A Thought for Your Wednesday: The Power of Sin

The Lord laid a thought on my heart tonight that I felt compelled to share: I recently wrote and published a devotional on the blog that was named "The Power of Planting a Seed" and I never once imagined the heart of it extending into today but I love this analogy SO very much.  Everyone that knows me well knows how much I love sunflowers. I couldn't help but think about their desperate need for sunlight and water to thrive abundantly.  Could you imagine if that sunflower never received any natural sunlight or rainwater in its lifetime? What if it isn't even planted firmly in the right soil? The sort of foundation that will help it to grow and to thrive?  It wouldn't have the opportunity to live as it should live and it would only lead up to eventual death and ultimate destruction.  The same principle applies to those souls who are living lost and have never known Jesus.  What is your foundation tonight?  What are you watering your life with?  Ha...

The Closet of Your Heart

The seasons are rapidly shifting as warmer weather continues to make its much-welcomed presence known.  I love venturing out and about with my mother on those sunny days, especially to places such as Goodwill or Ollie's Bargain Outlet located in Barboursville.  We recently made the trek to Goodwill--fully invested in the long-awaited search for a new springtime jacket. The Power of Planting The Seed

Have you ever held the sort of conversation with someone that absolutely refused to leave your thoughts? One of those that continually lives rent-free within your mind and you aren't quite sure what you should do about it?  Struggles are ever-present in our world today.  Ten minutes spent with someone will make that perfectly clear---whether they were suddenly met with not so great news from their doctor or they are in the midst of financial ruin.  Perhaps their hearts have a spiritual need; many souls live without help but even more of them live without hope.  You can never truly know what someone may be experiencing.  Live as a light in a world that's absolutely filled to the brim with darkness. Live as 'that someone' who loves someone else enough to tell them all about Jesus.  You may meet those whose hearts may initially reject the Gospel but please remember that while it IS your responsibility to plant the seed, Christ is the only one with the ability ...
