Be Still

Have you ever lived through one of those difficult seasons that felt as though it would never come to an end?  Maybe you're currently in that headspace---exhausted, overwhelmed, maybe even a little bit cranky because you feel as though no one truly understands what you're experiencing.  Everyone faces different sets of challenges & while it's true that not everyone will totally "get it", I can promise you that whatever you're going through. Jesus knows ALL about it.  Families keep a lot of us busier than ever--but sometimes it's best to step away, to find somewhere quiet & to surrender every ounce of your situation into the palm of His hand.  While doing so won't always guarantee a change in the outcome of a situation, it WILL always result in changing your outlook as you continue walking with Him in the midst of it. 🩷 "Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth." (Psalm 46:1...

There's No Need To Doubt Him Now

Everyone who follows me knows how much I LOVE Scripture Writing & the month of November carries the theme of gratitude. 🧡 I always enjoy reading through and studying the entire passage of Scripture that includes the verse that I wrote out for that particular day. I had the opportunity to read through all of Psalm 136 yesterday evening and it was such a blessing to my heart! It was a wonderful account of God's enduring mercy throughout several different challenging situations. I thought of every circumstance where God has given me the victory; every battle of mine that He has fought ever so graciously. The strength of His unfailing mercy is what truly carried me through it all.  I have also had the song "No Need to Doubt Him Now" on my heart for the past few days & I just wanted to share a little reminder with you today:  Your current circumstances may seem overwhelming but you can trust that Jesus is near and that He will never fail in fighting for you. He has c...

What Are You Eating?

We are truly living through dangerous days. Our surroundings are filled with unprecedented levels of uncertainty and unfamiliarity, and the continual presence of societal poison has now been thrown out into the open for the entire world to see. The staggering amount seems quite overwhelming. Studies show that most of what we consume daily is considered harmful. The fast-food industry continues to crumble as many are now avoiding what they're selling.  That only places the foundation for my message today----the nasty ingredients found in what we are consuming don't only exist in our edible food---they are within everything we take in through our senses---the music we listen to, the television shows we're streaming, and those little devices that occupy so much of our time (that last part was written from personal experience) One quick Google search about the dangers of processed foods will show their harmful effects on our bodies. While we should care about our physical con...

Questions And Answers (Revised Version)

I have grown to love Bible study SO much more throughout the past few months. (I love listening to Scott Pauley's Enjoying the Journey as well...I started listening to his podcast in September.) I have loved to learn since I was little and there's so much wisdom to be found all throughout God's Word. And because we are human, we will never have the capacity to know it all.  (Sometimes we DO think we know it all, or at least I know I do.) There will always be questions that run through our minds that we might not have the answers for, and that can be disheartening. Sometimes the process of waiting comes into play and that's never really easy. (That's another thought for another day) It can sometimes to be difficult to accept that we don't know everything, but that there's Someone who DOES.  His Word not only provides answers to the countless questions that we hold in our hearts, but it also has the power to breathe so many good things into our life: it build...

The Season To Start

How is it almost November already?! It truly feels as though September vanished into thin air without a trace. And weren't we just at the beginning of October? I have not had the opportunity to blog since unfortunately coming down with COVID in the middle of September and my heart is SO happy to finally share more of everything with you----my upcoming projects were understandably placed on hold. I am so thankful to the Lord for His continuous love and care in every circumstance—even those detours that we don't quite understand.  The passage of time presents us with numerous trials that were never meant to be fought alone; Christ gives us the power to have victory over all if we choose to trust in Him. If you've never trusted in Christ for salvation--you're missing out on something truly precious!  The good news is that with the arrival of each new day, there are countless opportunities for new seasons to begin---life is ever-changing, but God is the One who never change...

Confidence In His Work

Romans 8:28 is one verse that I have always considered as my life verse, though I'm also including Phillipians 1:6 as it is foundation of my message for today. I have been thinking a lot about one of my worst qualities and I couldn't help but wonder how many of us are truly like this? Probably all at some point in our lives if we were truly honest. I'm the worst at looking at a circumstance I'm either not entirely comfortable with or just flat out don't like with what I call "the small picture" perspective. In the past, I've initially said no to some of my greatest blessings...dragging my feet while internally kicking and screaming and just throwing a fit all because I wasn't entirely comfortable with what was going on or I didn't like what little bit I could see. I still struggle with it at times, and I'm sure someone else still deals with it too.  Friend, whatever you're able to see right now may not look promising. You may wond...

Trust In His Timing

The Lord placed a little thought on my heart today & I felt like sharing... As I've been cleaning today, I can honestly say I love my home and the season of life that I'm currently in. Memories of my childhood still flood my thoughts from time to time, and I can't help but become emotional when I think of how far the Lord has taken me.  I remember the times of wondering when the days would become easier, feeling so discouraged because life felt like such a mess. What I couldn't see was that the Lord had a beautiful plan that continues to unfold each and every day. Trusting in His timing isn't always the easiest thing to do, because sometimes all we can see is the absolute mess that surrounds us. How will this ever turn out? (I've said that sentence out loud more times than I care to admit) Maybe you're currently in a messy situation. The struggles of life are never a pleasant experience, but the best thing to do is to give it all some time and tru...

I Will Praise Him (A Life Update)

Hey there!  I'm quite uncertain as to how to begin this post; so much about my life has changed all in the span of three and a half weeks. It has been the most wonderful blessed whirlwind of an experience and I'm slowly adjusting to a new and unfamiliar sense of normalcy.  Some of you know that I was officially diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome in March of 2020. (It is a common endocrine disorder that affects women of childbearing age and results in hormonal imbalances and fertility issues.)  My health began rapidly deteriorating in the spring; the situation only continued to worsen throughout the summer. A CT scan in May showed cysts on both ovaries; with the addition of constant fatigue, hot flashes, abdominal and pelvic pain, debilitating brain fog and irritability...it all made creating anything an impossible task.  I was placed on an all new treatment at the beginning of October and it has completely changed my existence for the better.  It ...

The Audience of One

There's nothing quite comparable to the experience of a first-place win; those victories are always unforgettable. When I was in the fifth grade, I won a spelling bee. I can still remember every bit of the excitement I felt upon realizing that I would be moving forward as a representative for my school at the county-wide level of competition I spent the next few weeks deeply involved in studying and strengthening my spelling ability. It was all so exciting! As the evening of the spelling bee finally arrived, a small amount of nervousness began to creep in, although I was more than prepared for whatever the night may bring. My ultimate goal was to be crowned the winner. I wanted to be the best and to have the chance to keep on competing. There were twenty kids in all and after several rounds of increasingly difficult words, I lost on one that I can't even remember now and ended up placing sixth in the competition overall. (Which is pretty darn great when you think about it...

The Power in Choosing Joy

Today I am choosing joy... I love listening to music while I am tidying up the house and preparing to start my day. The word joy has been on my heart for several days and I couldn't help but remember a previous message that I wrote about choosing joy that was left unfinished, and I feel that now is the perfect time to share the rest of it all with you.  Yesterday, I came across one song in particular that was named, "I Choose Joy", and for some reason, it truly resonated with my spirit. Struggles are coming in hot and heavy from every direction; so many families are struggling with endless sickness and strife.  And the sheer craziness that continues to envelope our world is truly on another level (there's more to say on that some other time.) Everything is so difficult to comprehend and the all-American dream of reaching the state of complete inner satisfaction just doesn't seem possible at this point. Although happiness isn't always achievable, the joyful ho...

The Power of His Presence

Nothing shall be impossible with God, yet nothing will ever be possible without Him.  This thought popped into my head the other night, and I couldn't help but think of how true that statement actually is.  I think this message applies to so many as it is really hard to ask for help when you need it.  There always seems to be a tug of war in the mind about what to do when faced with certain situations.  You know in your heart what's best but choosing to do everything in your own power so often comes first. The idea of having limitations in this life is never easily accepted.  Those unchangeable circumstances are without a doubt some of the most frustrating.  But the truth is that your capabilities can and will only take you so far.  Every bit of strength that you need in this life will always be found in the power of His presence. Self sufficiency is the common goal of adulthood, but it is never the answer.  Because there will always be those situ...

Get Up and Go

Have you ever needed to complete a task but couldn't find the motivation to do it? I have easily lost whole afternoons by either choosing to look down at the ever-evolving craziness of my newsfeed or by simply  sitting and watching what's going on outside my dining room window while drifting deeper into thought.  It's not unusual to become unmotivated  during times of difficulty or uncertainty. It's natural for our hearts to lose strength  when the going gets tough. It may even seem easier to try and hide away from it all. In writing this today, my greatest reason for sliding in this thought on apathy is to  encourage others to continue pressing forward for the cause of Christ. Because there are countless souls that  still need Him. Those that are lost and in search of something more than life on Earth could ever offer them. You may very well be the only chance that someone has to learn about Jesus and the power of His saving grace. Whenever ...

Cleaning Out The Junk

For the past several weeks, I have been writing on the subject of seeds; springtime is upon us and it's always exciting to plant them and await the appearance of those tiny first buds.  Another slightly less popular aspect of the season is the long avoided task of cleaning out the accumulated junk that somehow finds its way into every closet, drawer, and cabinet.  The past few days have been spent cleaning and organizing. It's amazing what I have found by searching through the mess.  I can't help but think about how we all hold onto so much junk in our lives. It's so much easier to just push it back into someplace where we can't see it. Out of sight, out of mind...right?  If we were all honest, no one wants to deal with junk because it all seems too overwhelming. It piles up quickly. It's usually more of a mess than we can handle.  What junk are you holding onto?  Do you have bitterness, anger, unforgiveness, or some burdening sorrow in ...
