Are Your Glasses Broken?

Writing for the Lord fills my heart with SO much joy---although I will admit that I sometimes try to be too technical & that can totally ruin my creative process.

I live for the moments that can be used for His glory.

And tonight, I have a little story and a thought that the Lord placed on my heart to share.

Now, I know this is the question that everyone has on their minds as their seeing this random photograph of a pair of broken glasses.

Why would I choose to share that?

These aren't my glasses....but I did manage to break my own last night.

Those glasses have sat on my head for a total of six years (I am way past due for an eye examination.) but I will honestly admit that I had been careless with them long before this ever happened. I lived with the worst habit of leaving them lying around in random places, never remembering where they were on any given day.

Until finally, I sat on them and *snap*

It was a clean break. (Complete separation right at the bridge.)

They are currently held together with the temporarily wonderful magic of super glue. I have peace about the situation, because I know that after this winter storm moves on through, I can simply call an eye doctor & be well on my way to acquiring a much-needed new pair of glasses.

The Lord brought this thought to my mind as I kept thinking about it:

Millions of souls around the world remain lost and without Christ, their hearts heavily steeped in sin. They live out their days carelessly, never giving a thought to the spiritual condition of their heart or to the fact that one day that sin will lead to a "clean break" from God, in other words, a complete separation from Him for all eternity.

They have near-sighted vision, and are only able to see what's right in from of them while everything else, including the long-term consequences of that sin remains blurry.

A lot of folks find themselves continually searching for temporary remedies that will never truly heal a soul that's lost and broken.

Are your glasses broken?

Not only am I thankful for the "superglue" fixes of life, but I am also grateful that I can call upon Jesus for anything and everything.

Even on those days where I truly mess up. Those moments where I know I knew better. It takes courage to admit that I don't do everything right.

But could you say the same?

Maybe you've lived a certain life for many years & have never given a thought to any of what I've written here...but know that there's no greater physician for the soul than Jesus.

No one will ever be able to mend your broken heart the same way He can.

No one will ever be able to rescue you from your own sin like He can.

Simply because no one loves you like He does.

Are your glasses broken tonight?

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23 KJV)

"And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (Luke 5:31-32 KJV)
