A Heart of Surrender
The Lord placed a little thought on my heart that I felt compelled to share with you this evening:
Is there something in your life that feels overwhelming to you at the moment? Are you silently wondering how in the world is it all going to turn out?
The anxieties that come our way are an all too familiar struggle for many--this world encourages us to hang tough and handle all that we are faced with completely on our own.
But as the journey of life continues, we come across many situations that are in the unknown territory, somewhere we have never been.
You learn from your past.
You witness a lot in your present.
But nothing is known about the future.
And our minds simply cannot handle that.
How many overthinkers are reading this right now?
The world teaches that you possess no strength by placing all of your anxieties into the hands of Christ. The word "overtrusting" is often viewed through their lens as allowing yourself to be naive.
But honestly, you can never place too much trust in Him. You can't see what lies ahead but He can. You may not understand it all but He does.
That deep reliance on the Lord is what enables you climb through all of those unknowns. I don't know what trial you're muddling through tonight, but I know you're tired of thinking about all of those "what ifs" and wondering what the outcome of it all might be.
Stop thinking about it & start trusting Him with it.
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV)
"Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;" (2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV)
