Don't Run The Red Light

"Don't run the red light..." 

The Lord placed that simple little phrase on my heart several weeks ago as I was out and about with my mother. Although I'm just now writing out the message that goes along with it, I have never once stopped thinking about it. 

Hurricane was at one time a quaint little town with two-lane roads (that's how I remember it from when I was growing up) and the traffic was NOTHING compared to what you see today. 

Somehow we've come into a time of pure impatience--almost everyone seems as if they're in such a hurry when it comes to absolutely everything. And if they are made to stop and wait, it's usually never too long until they're in a huff. 

The amount of people who operate vehicles while deliberately ignoring stop signs and continuously running red lights will never make sense to me. 

I am always left wondering about the precious souls who are in those vehicles--some of whom may be lost and living without Christ--giving room to an inherently prideful nature that causes them to be fully resistant to the numerous tugs on their hearts that only come from the Lord. 

"Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." (Proverbs 16:18 King James Version)

Do you know for certain where you'd be spending eternity if you were to pass away today? 

Continuously choosing to run from Him will only wreck your life: you'll live a life that's forever without any sort of peace and you'll be led down a path of eventual and absolute destruction. 

That life of sin not only affects you but it also bleeds into the lives of those who know and love you. I guarantee that you have family members who are continually praying for your soul.

And while you may not care at all about eternity today, you must know that tomorrow is never promised for any of us. 

Don't run the red light today. Stop and seek the Lord while He may be found.

"Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon." (Isaiah 55:6-7 King James Version)

Things To Remember When You Feel Like Quitting On God

Having the opportunity to serve the Lord through writing faith-based short stories and devotionals will forever be my greatest joy.  I have traveled along on the writing journey for about ten years now, yet it would be untruthful to tell you that I've never felt like quitting.  I know I have.  Have you ever felt that way?
