Running Home: A Word From The Author (2026 Reissue)

 I cannot find enough words to describe just how much of a blessing that the creative journey of "Running Home" has been for me. I want to personally take a moment to thank you for reading and to also express my thankfulness to the Lord for the precious opportunity to be a storyteller for His glory. 

"Running Home" is a faith-based short story series that invites the reader to follow along on the path of a woman named Melda Lemaster and her family who run the race of faith by simply trusting in the Lord to fill all of the empty spaces during their journey: a lifetime tale of freedom and resilience found through the power of salvation in Jesus Christ. My greatest hope is that these little stories plant a seed that works to help fill your own empty empty spaces with the greatest hope, the sweetest everlasting peace, and the unspeakable joy that a personal relationship with Jesus has to offer.

Each individual story contains an applicable life lesson along with a Bible verse that helps to illustrate how the Lord works through each life situation. "Running Home" is laced with intentional narrative gaps that are meant to represent the fact that we don't know all of what God has done for us. There are seasons of life where we don't see how He works behind the scenes. He is all-knowing and all-seeing. If we were well aware of every detail of our lives from beginning to end, there would be no reason to trust in Him through it all. Those gaps are representative of the Lord's faithfulness in the unseen and untold times. 

I hope you enjoy reading my little stories as much as I did writing them.

Things To Remember When You Feel Like Quitting On God

Having the opportunity to serve the Lord through writing faith-based short stories and devotionals will forever be my greatest joy.  I have traveled along on the writing journey for about ten years now, yet it would be untruthful to tell you that I've never felt like quitting.  I know I have.  Have you ever felt that way?
