Are You Connected?

A new year has come upon us; as we're continuing on the journey of 2023, my thoughts are centered on the world and its current state of affairs. Every corner of the earth seems to find itself submerged in some sort of devastation, whether it may be from the effects of an adverse weather-related storm, the presence of sickness, or the aftermath of a personal family tragedy.

I would bet that every single family could probably place the name of someone they know into one of those three categories; the past three years have brought forth a number of unprecedented situations.

I'd never before experienced the coldness of winter or the forcefulness of the wind as I did a few weeks ago; Christmas weekend was a challenging story for the ages, and as a result, the strength of our internet connection waivered for several days after the passing of the storm.

As I began to pray for a way to kick off another year on Molly's Zone, the Lord led me to think about my own relationship with Him and the importance of keeping that strong connection between us two on an everyday basis.

The same principle applies to everyone: each day we live is unpredictable. One can never know what the future holds, and it is SO important to have a personal relationship with the Lord and to trust in Him for every ounce of guidance that we need while continuing on our given path.

How strong is your connection to the Lord?

Are you connected to Him?

A Worn Out Router (A Life Lost In Sin) I cannot help but think that maybe someone doesn't know Christ as their Savior; perhaps they don't have that personal connection with Him on any level at all. Each new day presents an opportunity for salvation and a chance to experience the joyous peace that can be found through trusting in Christ alone. Maybe your heart is in that desolate place that's without purpose; traveling down a dead-end street that's without His presence. It never has to be that way. No one is ever too lost for Jesus to save.

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13 KJV)

Overloaded Channel (Too Much Going On)  Do you ever feel like there's just too much to do in the span of a twenty-four-hour day? Life has a tendency to make us feel bogged down at times---like there's no place to squeeze in a moment's peace--before we know it, the urgency of our to-do lists overshadows the urgency to spend time with the Lord-- however, giving Jesus every part of our day is essential to a closer connection with Him--every moment alone with Him is precious.

"And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13 KJV)

Malicious Software (Unhealthy Thinking) Spiritual warfare begins with the battlefield of the mind. The health of our thinking process plays a huge role in the strength of our connection to the Lord. Distraction is a key element of the devil's strategy to pull us away from God. Satan diligently seeks to create confusion and destruction wherever he goes. The only way to combat his attacks is to diligently seek the Lord and to fact-check those confusing thoughts with the truth of His Word.

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." (1 Peter 5:8 KJV)

"Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with the truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness." (Ephesians 6:14 KJV)

These reasons don't even come close to all that can be experienced within this world; the main ones are listed here and I hope each one encourages you to think about your own relationship (or the possibility of a relationship) with Jesus Christ. I will delve more into all that is mentioned at a later date because there's so much more to share. I am so grateful for the continued opportunity to do so.
