He Cares About All Things
The Need To Be Set Apart
You are far better off to be set apart from the world than to be submerged in it.
The world promotes the notion that we should do whatever is "socially acceptable", referencing cultural norms that have been put in place by an ever-changing world; in reality, our focus should be on what is acceptable by God's standard.
I used to struggle with the fact that I don't have a huge social circle. Every time I try to have too much of one, I get launched onto detours that only serve to distract me on my walk with Christ.
Allowing yourself to be set apart brings a much deeper sense of peace. It gives you the chance to deepen your friendship & fellowship with Jesus: the most important friendship of all. To not only help you examine your heart but also to strengthen your faith and trust in Him for everything.
Don't let this world make you believe that you have to partake in something just because it's the newest trend. Don't think that you need the same exact friends as someone else.
Find friends with common interests. Lately, I have loved reading other women's blogs and I've even reached out to some of them.
It's okay to have friends. Keep your circle small.
And know that it's also a necessity to take the time to be still, being set apart to spend time with Jesus.
"But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him."
"Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah."
"Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord."
(Psalm 4:3-5 King James Version)

Keep On Keepin' On
Oftentimes, life leads us to an uncomfortable spot of questioning our circumstances. We start feeling like we want to quit. Have you ever visited that place where you are just DONE?

The Need For His Word (Salvation Series Part 2)
The first installment of my salvation series dealt with the worsening state of our world and highlighted the qualities of this society. Humanity is in dire need of Jesus and today I want to touch on one of many important questions that go along with the talk of salvation:
Why do we need Jesus?
I want you to imagine embarking on a super long and winding hiking trail. It can quickly steal your breath, causing you to lose energy with each step you take. At times you may feel as though you want to quit.
To help keep up your strength, it is vital to carry with you some supplies:
Non-perishable food will serve as the main source of nourishment.
Water to keep you hydrated and free of thirst.
Light so that you can see where you're walking when darkness comes.
A compass to help point you in the right direction.
Protection of some sort in times of trouble.
As we briefly touched on in the last post, it is crucial to first realize that this world will provide nothing for you. No lasting nourishment can be derived from its rotten fruit. We need Jesus because only He and His Word can provide the adequate nourishment necessary for our "hike" through life.
His Word will never lead you astray. Its truth will never perish. Clinging to the wisdom of His Word will leave your soul fully satisfied. He will strengthen you as you continue to walk alongside Him. Most of all, His Word will help you survive the toughest of valleys.
"The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens."
"By his knowledge, the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew."
"My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:"
"So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck."
"Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble."
(Proverbs 3: 19-23 King James Version)
His Word is the purest of waters that work to fill up our souls. It simply saturates our minds, quenches our thirst when we ourselves run dry, and hydrates our living hearts of faith for Him.
"Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water."
"The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?"
"Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?"
"Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:"
"But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."
(John 4:10-14 King James Version)
His Word functions as a light unto our path and a much-needed lamp unto our feet. It helps the eyes to see which direction to take, the decisions to make, giving us the vision we need to walk uprightly in the darkness of this world.
"Thy word is a lamp unto thy feet, and a light unto my path." (Psalm 119:105 King James Version)
His Word is the compass we need most along our journey. It provides direction for our steps.
"A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps."
(Proverbs 16:9 King James Version)
Lastly, we need protection along our walk in this world. He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.
"Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him."
(Proverbs 30:5 King James Version)
Trusting in the wisdom of God's precious Word is crucial to our daily lives. He is our survival kit in a dangerous and evil world. I hope and pray today's post helps you see your need for His Word.
