The Hope Amongst the Darkness (Salvation Series Part 3)

This past August saw the beginning of a written series on salvation that came upon my heart. The first couple of installments were finished and released but I never reached the final and most important mention of them all: how to be sure you're saved and on your way to eternal life in Heaven.

The past week has been a time of revisiting this subject as it is still very much relevant in the midst of the ever-growing presence of evil that surrounds us. The first installment highlighted the lost and dying condition of this world, while the second installment answered the question of why relying upon His Word is so important in every part of our lives. The global society has become filled with hearts that are pitted against one another, holding an unbridled sense of entitlement. We not only exist in a world that feels helpless, but we are also present among a generation that lives without possession of hope.

Jesus Christ is the single greatest source of hope that one could have in the midst of so much darkness.

The gift of salvation is simple. One must first realize that he/she is a lost sinner and in need of a Saviour. We all fall short of God's glory and not one ounce of morality, good works, or religion will save your soul from an eternity in the Lake of Fire and separation from God.  Salvation is simply by grace through faith. The Bible provides us with evidence of all of this within these few verses:

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6 KJV)

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23 KJV)

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." (Ephesians 2:8 KJV)

The great news is that we were sent a Saviour. Please know and believe within your heart that Jesus loves you so much that He died on the cross at Calvary, taking the payment for all of your sins. You are never too lost for Jesus to save. He loves you more than you could ever imagine. The Bible provides many accounts of God's deep love for this lost and dying world and the sinners within.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life". (John 3:16 KJV)

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8 KJV)

The gift of salvation is available to whosoever.  It doesn't matter where you come from or what road you've traveled on. You are never too lost to save. Jesus loves you. He wants all of your strengths and weaknesses. He can and will use them for His glory if you allow Him into your heart and life. I write this from personal experience, but I have known no greater source of love. He has taught my heart so much in the almost eighteen years since my own salvation. He has given me so much to praise His name for.

Please don't wait until it's too late to accept His precious gift of salvation. The wages of your sin are far too great in cost. There is hope amongst the darkness. The matter of where you will spend eternity is no small matter as tomorrow is never promised.

If you were to die right this very moment, are you 100% sure you would be on your way to Heaven? Or would you face eternity in Hell?

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23 KJV)

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9 KJV)

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13 KJV)
