A Love For All Seasons (Saturday Thoughts)

The love that Jesus has for you will never be dependent on what you are able to do for Him. The deepness of His unconditional love was made perfectly known as He was dying on that cross. He gave His life for every imperfect soul. His strength was given for every bit of our weakness. I have kept this thought on my heart recently, though throughout my life, I never really meditated on it before now. I just felt like today was the perfect moment to share. How could Jesus love us so much that He would die for us? I love to stay busy and I love to write for His glory. I love the blog & I feel so blessed that He has kept His hand on it for so many years now. But I know sometimes it's easy to become too busy if we aren't careful, no matter what we're doing or where or how we are serving the Lord. We so often forget that it's never about us or our abilities, but rather it is ALWAYS about Jesus and the power of His wonderful mercy and grace. Our worth will always be f...

Secure Your Armor (Armor of Salvation Series Part 2) (September 2023 Reissue)

I have held onto the second installment of this timely and truthful message for quite some time. The Lord placed these first initial thoughts in my heart during the first few weeks of last summer and I don't think there'd be any better time to finish out my message on the armor of salvation than right now. As the clouds of darkness continue to envelop our world, there is nothing more important than securing your armor of salvation.  The first installment (which I have linked right here) provides a brief but detailed description of an endangered generation whose world doesn't offer a promise of protection from any source of deception; the world we live in today presents numerous challenges and life doesn't seem to be getting any easier. You cannot make it through life without a defender. You cannot make it in this world without Jesus. Well, how does someone fight against the powers of this wicked world? I cannot continue the message without first writing an urgent pl...

A Place And a Purpose (Molly's Zone Turns Eight!)

September 1st will always be a wonderfully blessed day. I simply cannot find the words to describe the amount of thankfulness and gratitude that I hold within my heart for every opportunity that the Lord has given me to serve Him through being able to write for Him and to share the truth of His precious Word.  Today, Molly's Zone celebrates the eighth anniversary of its launch, and my heart is immensely filled with joy. Time truly flies when you're having fun, and I've had a blast! Thinking back to where I was eight years ago brings me to the remembrance of a time when I was without a place to belong in the world : a then-recent college graduate without purpose as well (my whole life at that point revolved around functioning as a professional student) Wanting to "fit in" was forever my goal---if I wasn't an acne-ridden teenager trying to blend in with everyone at school, I was a 20-something-year-old college graduate who was attempting to lay ground on the pe...

An Investment In Jesus

If you've followed the news at all throughout the last few weeks, it's hard to miss the continuous updates on the Titan submersible story; every article paints an unimaginable picture. I can't help but wonder what was going through their minds, or if anything was at all, in those last few moments. The fear and helplessness they felt must have been awful. All of the money and notoriety in the world couldn't save them; they were submerged in total darkness and in the middle of one hopeless situation.  I don't know if they were aware of it all beforehand, but if so, you know they weren't thinking about their social standing in the world. Perhaps their hearts were with their families. One of them may have even called out to God as desperation continued to grow. Their lives were over in the blink of an eye.  I write all of this introduction to ask you these two important questions: Where are you putting your treasures? Are you making an investment in eternit...

The Audience of One

There's nothing quite comparable to the experience of a first-place win; those victories are always unforgettable. When I was in the fifth grade, I won a spelling bee. I can still remember every bit of the excitement I felt upon realizing that I would be moving forward as a representative for my school at the county-wide level of competition I spent the next few weeks deeply involved in studying and strengthening my spelling ability. It was all so exciting! As the evening of the spelling bee finally arrived, a small amount of nervousness began to creep in, although I was more than prepared for whatever the night may bring. My ultimate goal was to be crowned the winner. I wanted to be the best and to have the chance to keep on competing. There were twenty kids in all and after several rounds of increasingly difficult words, I lost on one that I can't even remember now and ended up placing sixth in the competition overall. (Which is pretty darn great when you think about it...

The Greatest of Days (Salvation Anniversary Post)

Nineteen years ago today, I accepted Christ as my personal Savior and it truly was the best decision I have ever made. The journey with Jesus by my side continues to be nothing short of incredible--the conquering of each obstacle, and every moment of joy has only been made possible through the power of His faithful presence in my story. The last two years in particular have been wonderful--even though I am thankful for every moment I've known Him, I have just felt closer to Him since the completion of my Running Home stories for some reason, and I will always be thankful for the opportunity I was given to write them all. To think I never even wanted to be a writer in the first place--choosing to answer His call and to follow His perfect plan for my life was the second best decision I could have made. Blogging and storytelling has been a joy, and serving Him in that way provides so much purpose, and it's unfathomable that Molly's Zone will celebrate its eighth annivers...

What Are You Centering On?

What are your thoughts centered on today? It's never too difficult to find a source of discouragement in the world we live in today; one quick glance at our phones or time spent watching the news can leave one feeling overwhelmed with the magnitude of it all. While we aren't able to change the state of our surroundings, it IS possible to change the way we think and what we choose to dwell on. Our thought processes are the main target that Satan chooses to attack, and knowing how to fight against his strategies is the key to victory. The most powerful weapon one can have is the start of the day being spent in prayer. I have never been that much of a morning person, but every time I make the effort to spend that quiet time with the Lord, the rest of my day flows much easier. My moods are better. My outlook is better. I have that much needed pep in my step. I am kept in a state of perfect peace. It is far too easy to find ourselves focusing on what may be wrong in our l...
